The Production of MBBR Media
MBBR media(k1 media,k3 meida,k5 media) production process
1. Raw material selection and pretreatment
Substrate selection:
Common polymer materials include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and ethylene propylene copolymer (EPDM), which need to meet the requirements of corrosion resistance and aging resistance. EPDM has become the first choice for high-end products due to its outstanding tear resistance.
Auxiliary materials such as fiber bundles (polyester fibers) or carbon fibers are used to enhance mechanical strength or conductivity.
Pre treatment process of mbbr filter media:
The raw materials need to be screened to remove impurities, and the moisture content should be reduced to<5% through cleaning and drying to ensure molding stability.
Some scenes require the addition of surfactants or biological enzyme promoters to optimize microbial adhesion.
2. Forming process
Granulation and extrusion:
The dried raw materials enter the twin-screw extruder and are melted at high temperature before being molded into hollow cylinders, suspended spheres, or corrugated plate structures through porous molds, with a specific surface area of up to 600-860m ²/m ³.
Dynamic core rotary extrusion technology is used to manufacture swirling fillers, improving the uniformity of internal pore distribution.
Surface modification:
Laser drilling or high-frequency embossing processes increase the surface micropore density (pore size 0.5-2mm), promoting rapid biofilm formation.
Fiber bundles are bonded to the surface of fillers through hot melt bonding or weaving processes, forming a multi-level adhesive structure.
3. Functional enhancement and quality inspection
Performance optimization:
The graphene modification process enhances the UV resistance of fillers and extends their outdoor service life to ≥ 8 years.
Compression strength testing (≥ 50kPa) and porosity analysis (target value ≥ 85%) are required for molded fillers.
